MEM FA Cited for Heroism
Suzanne Neal honored in "A Word From Doug"
Doug Steenland lavishes praise on a MEM-based FA in his periodic communication "A Word From Doug." Let's hear it for Sue!
"... Finally, I’d like to close this message with a special recognition for Flight Attendant Suzanne Neal who on Jan. 24 acted with tremendous heroism in working to save the life of one of our passengers who had suffered a heart attack onboard Flight 179. In the words of one of the passengers onboard that flight, Suzanne 'acted selflessly and compassionately, setting aside her own concerns. She stayed with me by the passenger's side until the medics carried him off the plane and even at that point she stopped to pause and privately pray for the stricken passenger. Without losing a step, she then returned to the care of other passengers and never once let anyone see anything less than a smile with a welcoming and reassuring demeanor. Consider yourselves very fortunate to have this person working for you.'
"Suzanne, on behalf of all of your co-workers, we do count ourselves fortunate to be working alongside you. You have our most sincere and humble thanks for your actions that day and for everything you’ve done on behalf of Northwest and its passengers."
